This is not an easy shot to get!
Mountain bluebirds move fast. They land on a fencepost and stay there
for about a nanosecond, then they take off like a rocket to points
unknown.
A mountain bluebird really is an impressive sight; a flash of bright
blue where the only other blue is the aptly named 'bluebird sky'.
Keeping the bird within the camera's viewfinder was a challenge. My
210mm lens did not get me that close, so this is a great example of
the more pixels the better!
The original image has the bird as a bright blue tiny blur in the
middle of the frame, but cropping, sharpening, and more tuning makes
a decent image out of not much.
Digital technology is cool!
I took this photo at Rocky Mountain National Park. Look at more images
from the park here. |
