"Living in the midst of abundance we have the greatest difficulty in seeing that the supply of natural wealth is limited and that the constant increase of population is destined to reduce the American standard of living unless we deal more sanely with our resources." - W.H. Carothers
This is not an easy shot to get! Mountain bluebirds move fast. They land on a fencepost and stay there for about a nanosecond, then they take off like a rocket to points unknown.

A mountain bluebird really is an impressive sight; a flash of bright blue where the only other blue is the aptly named 'bluebird sky'.

Keeping the bird within the camera's viewfinder was a challenge. My 210mm lens did not get me that close, so this is a great example of the more pixels the better!

The original image has the bird as a bright blue tiny blur in the middle of the frame, but cropping, sharpening, and more tuning makes a decent image out of not much.

Digital technology is cool!

I took this photo at Rocky Mountain National Park. Look at more images from the park here.
