“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.” - Edward Abbey
This gorgeous view is looking south from the walkway up to the Byron Bay Lighthouse. From the lighthouse you may be able to spot dolphins, or a humpback whale. I saw several on their way north at the end of September.

Later that day I went down to the beach for a run on the sand. I planned a 40-minute run to the end of the beach and back. Well, I didn't make it—to the end that is. Tallows Beach is 7k long (4.3-miles) so I made it only about halfway! Yet another pristine, nearly empty Australian beach. Here's another view.
