“Real flowers bloom in the wilderness.” - from the movie: “House of Flying Daggers.”
The plant with this exotic flower bloomed on a vine in my Mom's back yard. Mom doesn't exactly have a green thumb, but she has fun with it, and this plant was thriving without much attention.

Working 'in the dirt' is very relaxing and grounding. Watching the plants as they come up each spring and go to bloom is fascinating.

How did each plant evolve into it's unique look? Is it still evolving into something different, or is it just cross-pollinating into hybrids of different colors within its own kind?
