On the north side of Santa Fe's
central plaza is the Palace of the Governors where Native Americans
sell their wares in the open air. Handmade jewelry in traditional
styles and native materials like silver and turquoise can be bought
directly from the artists.
It's a pleasing contrast to the cookie-cutter high end shops that
saturate Santa Fe's downtown. Speaking with the person that creates
the jewelry is fun. |
